Our students had a visit from Mr. Sassman, who is the teacher of the class from Alaska with whom our students have been sharing letters. Besides teaching about life in Alaska, he also brought an engineering activity for the students to complete. Using 15 straws, 15 popsicle sticks, 5 rubber bands, some tape and some string, students were challenged to design a container for an egg that would keep it from cracking when dropped from the top of a ladder. The students worked really hard designing and creating their containers. Some worked better than others, but they all learned some valuable lessons about design and force.

Welcome Back to the 2016-2017 School Year!!

We had an amazing first day of school! I want to thank all the families for helping the students prepare for a successful year. We had a great day learning all about things they can expect now that they are part of the upper grades. I am thrilled with the kind, respectful, thoughtful, and attentive classroom community that we have begun to build. I am looking forward to continuing this growth throughout the school year!
